Color Charts
I developed a method of creating color charts for my travel sketching media: watercolor pan sets and watercolor pencils.
I borrowed some ideas from artists posting their color chart methods online and YouTube. Then I added my own approach.
I use a quarter-iinch gridded craft cutting board and painters tape to grid my Strathmore 400 Series Mixed Media sheet. The sheet is cut to size to fit exactly in the case of each art media.
This is the l'Aquerelle Sennelier 48-pan watercolor color chart in progress. I use my Samsung tablet to display a chart of the color labels to be printed out later.
This is the finished color chart for the Faber-Castell 120 watercolor pencils. The color chart is laminated after it is finished. On the reverse side I print out the chart label indicating pencil order, color number, and color name (see next photo).
